Yesterday I realised my emails haven't been working and I have received a post-interview project brief from Christy Garments, leaving me with just a day to complete it. Unfortunately that meant I also had to travel to Huddersfield and use the university computers, as I don't yet have Illustrator at home.
I decided, from experience, the best way to start a project was research. Firstly I got in touch with parents I knew and asked what kind of features they look for when buying baby clothes. I then thought it was important to research existing products in the market to find what has already been done and what I could do better.
Despite not being very familiar with Illustrator, I managed to learn what I needed from CAD lesson notes and the internet to complete the task to the best of my ability. I used the colours selected from the brief to design a baby boys quilted coat. Although I am happy with my outcome I still feel I would have done a lot better given the time.
