First Day at Oxfam

I was very excited for my first day at Oxfam, starting my placement as the new Womenswear Specialist. When I got there, I learnt that 2 others were starting the same day, Abbey and Laura, both also from Huddersfield University, working as the new Vintage Specialists.

We spent the morning, getting to know everything and filling in forms, which was quite boring but understandably necessary. We then spent the afternoon getting to know the existing womenswear and vintage specialists to learn the job from them before they leave.
My responsibilities at this placement will include picking current trends and items of clothing to suit those trends every other week to go on the carousel. My day to day jobs will be picking contemporary women’s clothing to photograph and list online.

Although today was not as excited as I'd hoped, I am very excited to learn more as I continue with this placement and get involved with as much as possible to gain experience.
