The Future Workspace

In the past, when industries became more demanding, the future workspace was pictured with employees being over worked and little time to rest. For example, in Charlie Chaplins video, Modern Times (1936), he shows the pressures put on workers for faster results and the physical effects this causes.
However, I think in the future there may be less jobs available. We still have the problem that the industry is becoming more and more demanding, but now there are machines that are able to take over and do our jobs in less time saving money for the companies.
I can imagine that textiles will be used to change the workplace in the future by making offices a less stressed environment, leading to employees producing better work. A good example of this is the fun and interactive offices at Google.
In 2030 I will be 36 and hope to have my own business, maybe working with other artists, here in Huddersfield. My days will be filled with planning and running workshops teaching textile craft techniques and selling my work in my own craft shop. I would also like to get involved with live art projects and maybe exhibiting work.
