Today I had my induction for a part time job at Select, a women’s fashion shop. However, this was only for a job as a Christmas temp which means I will have to continue my search for a job to start after the Christmas period.
When I first arrived, I found there were a group of us there for an induction. We started by being introduced to the managers and having a tour of the shop. We then spent most of the time filling in forms and going through health and safety. Finally we were split into 2 groups so that half had an induction on the tills and the other half worked the shop floor, clearing round and helping customers, before swapping over. When it came to my induction on the tills, I was quite nervous as the tills are a lot older than I am used to and there seemed to be a lot of codes and things to remember.
I am looking forward to starting properly at this shop, getting to know that staff, working with customers and being a part of working in the fashion industry.
