Atlantis

For one of my first tasks at the school, I was asked to create a display board to put up outside the headmasters office, featuring the year 8 students work from their project Atlantis.

Firstly I had to pick out 36 designs from the range of students work I was given.
I then cut out the squares, laminated them and used various different embroidery techniques to enhance certain areas of their designs.

I started to think about the background of my display board.
I researched into Atlantis and found many pictures of architecture found under the sea. I then used these pictures as a theme to draw my background as the lost city of Atlantis.

I started to think about how I would display the students work on the board.
I experimented with the best way to hold the work up and thought about what order they should go in.

Finally, I stuck on a blue net to give a waves effect, put up the work and added a few fish and hidden treasures.
The final look of the board is not exactly how I imagined it to be as I think the layout is a little messy. However, with the layers and background colours I think it makes the students work stand out nicely.
