Bohemian Wanderer Carousel

Today was my final carousel day at Oxfam, working on my trend, Bohemian Wanderer. This was a trend I was really looking forward to as I love bold patterns and floaty dresses mixed with layers of knit and weave.

Here is my trend pitch paragraph, wrote in the description of each garment for the carousel:-
'This season it’s all about combining the sheer floating maxi dresses with bold knit and woven layers. We’ve got fabulous floral prints, lots of funky fringing and that statement bag to take on any journey. Make a show stopping statement at any festival with our Bohemian Wanderer collection!'

Denim vs Suede Carousel

Today was carousel day working on my trend, Denim vs Suede. I tried choosing a range of different items to show the varied styles of the 2 fabrics.
As it's very fast paced at Oxfam, Amanda and Holly quality check and make live our listings ASAP. This however means that our listings go live before they are emailed to Monica at the end of the day. Because of this a couple of my garments were sold before they even made it onto the carousel.

Here is my trend pitch paragraph, wrote in the description of each garment for the carousel:-

'This season we have 2 different fabrics competing for the top spot! From embellished denim skirts and retro dungarees to sorbet suede accessories and bright tailored jackets. You're guaranteed to find the perfect style for you, with our Denim vs Suede Collection!'

Graceful Blush Carousel and Phoning Models

Today was carousel day working on my trend, Graceful Blush.
As always carousel days are very full on, making sure everything for the carousel is listed to perfect standard and put online in time. However, on top of that, as Katys window had been broken from the wind this previous night, I was also left with her job of calling all the models and the hair people for the bloggers event to confirm they can make the time and date, and that we have their measurements to be prepared.

Here is my trend pitch paragraph, wrote in the description of each garment for the carousel:-

'This season it’s all about the natural elegance in every style. With soft feminine flows of skirts, and structured to the silhouette dresses, in nude shades of sugary pastel. You’ll be ready for any special occasion this summer, with our Graceful Blush collection!'

Sorting

This morning we had to sort through all the clothes that wastesaver sent through over the last 3 weeks that we’ve been in the offices. It was also the first time I’ve done sorting since I found out I have dermititis, so I had to wear rubber gloves which was quite embarrassing at first but as everyone I work with knows, it made me feel a bit better. As no one had done sorting for 3 weeks it took a lot longer than usual and we didn't actually Finnish all the carts. However this meant we managed to find a lot of items suited for our carousels and bloggers fashion event. As sorting took so long and we still needed to list we decided to store all the selected items together in Laura and Abbeys office so we can sort through it properly together, another day.

Oriental Embellishment Carousel

Today was carousel day working on my trend, Oriental Embellishment. As I specialise in embroidery, I really loved picking out these clothes and would love to buy most of these items for myself.

Here is my trend pitch paragraph, wrote in the description of each garment for the carousel:-
'This season it's all about the bold patterns and statement embellishment! With heavy bead-work waistcoats, Chinese floral print dresses, and embroidered shoes. You're guaranteed to stand out with a cultural flare this Spring, with our Oriental Embellished collection!'

Accessories: Contemporary vs Vintage Carousel

Today was carousel day working on my trend, Accessories: Contemporary vs Vintage. However, at the end of the day, when I emailed the garments HD numbers to Monica I received an automatic reply saying that she was out of office for the whole week. I spoke to Holly about this and she said no one else picks up Monica's work when she isn't there, meaning my carousel work had been a waste.

Here is my trend pitch paragraph, wrote in the description of each garment for the carousel:-
'This season, it's all about the accessories, and what better way to make a statement than a few blasts from the past in our vintage inspired collection! Featuring faux fur shawls, bold printed silk scarves, a Prada headband, and of course, lots of platform shoes. You're sure to stand out from the crowd with our Contemporary vs Vintage collection!'

Team Meeting

Today was our team meeting with the whole Oxfam Batley Online Team. Here I got the chance to present the new season trend boards to the rest of the online team, in order to make sure the clothes we are listing are on trend and in line with other online fashion stores.

Here are the trend boards made by the rest of the placement students and I.

Midnight Forest Carousel

Today was my first carousel day working on my own trend, Midnight Forest. I was quite nervous that I wouldn't get everything done in time, so I photographed my clothes yesterday, giving me plenty of time to list and get all garments online in time. It was quite exciting seeing my own personal work on the front page of the website.

The contemporary carousel on the front page of the website.
Here is my trend pitch paragraph which I wrote in the description of each garment for the carousel:-
'Bring some glamour to your wardrobe this season and be on trend with our Midnight Forest collection! We've got a range of faux fur coats, deep green and burgundy dresses and stand out floral shirts. From a Whistles red velvet suit to a Nina Ricci Skirt, there's something for everyone in this mystical collection.'
